Anything that comes in a box is made to last on a shelf for long periods of time. How do they do this? Artificial ingredients and preservatives...things we do not want to be consuming.
This Cheeseburger-flavored hamburger healthier recipe tastes better, in my opinion, than any boxed hamburger helper I've had in the past. Plus, the fresh ingredients and 100% grass-fed beef make it a healthier version.
Yield - about 6 people
Cook time - 10 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 lb 100% grass fed beef
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon ground paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
1 1/2 teaspoons Himalayan sea salt
1 teaspoon cane sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups hot water
1 1/2 cups sweetened almond milk
2 cups dry chickpea pasta (or alternative)
2 cups grated or shredded dairy free cheese (or alternative)
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat and add grass-fed beef. Cook beef until browned.
Sprinkle cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, cane sugar, and pepper over the browned beef. Stir well until evenly combined.
Add hot water, milk, and pasta. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes or until pasta is to your liking.
Sprinkle cheese over cooked pasta and stir until combined.
Remove from heat and let cool until thickened. Garnish with parsley and enjoy!
