How to Save Calories on your Starbucks Holiday Drinks


Cut the calories in your fave holiday drinks with these simple tips.

Never sacrifice those delicious Starbucks holiday coffees again!


ASK FOR THE LOW FAT OR ALTERNATIVE MILK

One of the easiest ways to cut calories, and you can barely tell the difference! You don’t need to completely avoid whole fat dairy but whole milk has a lot of calories. Swap it for a nonfat, almond, or coconut milk.


GO FOR A HALF PUMP OF SYRUP

Starbucks does offer a variety of syrups that are sugar free but they’re also packed full of artificial flavors. Keep the regular syrup and ask for a half pump instead to cut calories and fat content but you’ll still get that holiday flavor. The holiday drinks are super sweet so knocking down the syrup won’t do much to the flavor!


UTILIZE THE SPICE STATION

I rarely go inside of a Starbucks and usually I’m rushing in and out, but I’ve recently discovered that amazing little station of spices inside! You can add cinnamon, cocoa powder, nutmeg, vanilla, and all add a little flavor with no calories. You can even forfeit the syrup to add these great flavors instead to cut even more fat.


MAKE IT A MISTO

What the heck is a misto?! It is probably one of the most underrated drinks on the menu. Rather than a latter (espresso and steamed milk), a misto is coffee and steamed milk. With these ratios, a misto has less milk. Less milk equals less calories. Plus, you still get that foamy feel of a latte! You can also add a half pump of syrup to get that holiday flavor.


ASK FOR A TALL

The saddest part about drinking coffee is when you run out. I’m always so worried I’ll run out of coffee and need more. I never “need” coffee. It’s my mind playing tricks on me! As much I’d love the biggest coffee the world makes, a tall will get me through my day just fine. I drink it slow and enjoy the holiday flavor while it lasts. Plus it keeps more money in my pocket.


MAKE YOUR OWN COPYCAT RECIPE AT HOME

This is my jam! I always love searching for the copycat recipes of my fave Starbucks drinks. I always end up making mine with less ingredients than the recipes call for to keep the sweetness and calories low.
